Activated Carbon Paper

What is Activated Carbon Paper?

Ideal for purification applications that require a paper-like material that is light, thin, flexible and has excellent adsorption abilities, activated carbon cloth is created when fibers are impregnated with activated carbon. Just like the activated carbon cloth we manufacture, carbon cloth has a larger surface area with millions of pores designed to cleanse organic compounds and other impurities from air and gasses.

We use high-quality synthetic and cellulose fibers to create our activated carbon paper using raw materials like wood and coconut shells or coal in the process of carbonization. The thin porous paper we make efficiently adsorbs a wide range of pollutants and toxins, making it extremely useful for numerous applications.

The activated carbon paper can be used in air filtration systems to improve the quality of air in homes, offices and industrial settings. You’ll often find activated carbon paper in air purifiers as they can remove dangerous compounds from the air such as ammonia and benzene which are common in household cleaning products.

In healthcare settings the thin yet breathable activated carbon paper can be added to wound dressings for added hygiene as it can release malodors but at the same time trap toxins or organic compounds which would otherwise be released into the air. As the paper is flexible and easy to cut into different shapes and sizes, it can be used in a range of deodorization applications like shoe inserts and food packaging.

Why Choose Activated Carbon Paper?

The large surface area combined with the high porosity of this material allows it to adsorb VOCs, chemicals, heavy metals and compounds in air very easily. The thin material can be layered up to boost the adsorption capacity.

Activated carbon comes in many formats such as granulated and powdered, but the paper form of our activated carbon allows it to be integrated into a range of products such as filter systems and purifiers.

Activated carbon paper can be used in many kinds of harsh industrial environments to provide effective protection and filtration as it is resistant to being damaged by many chemicals. Instead, the paper adsorbs these chemicals and holds them in its pores.
