Pelletized activated carbon is a product we offer which has been pressed into pellets rather than being in a powdered or granulated form. Our pelletized activated carbon is made with sustainable wood or coal and is heated at very high temperatures twice before being made into a handy pellet form.
Our pellet sizes are around 0.9mm to 9mm but we can custom create your pellets in any dimensions you wish if they’re intended for a specific purpose. Once the pellets have been pressed we dry and cool them and package them ready to be sent around the world to clients in a wide range of industries.
In its pelletized form, activated carbon can be used in a range of applications. As with other forms it can be added to water to remove heavy metals and contaminants like sulfides and chlorine, and also used in air filters to capture harmful pollutants. It is used in the pharmaceutical industry to purify by-products out of raw materials and can purify chemicals in a range of industrial settings too. Our pelletized activated carbon is also used to purify and clean water used in the food processing industry so it has no unwanted tastes and smells.
Our cylindrical pellets have several advantages over powdered activated carbon when it comes to the strength of the compacted product. There is a reduced risk from dust, doesn’t crush easily and it can withstand being tumbled in high-flow water.
As pelletized activated carbon has a large surface area and a uniform size it can be added to treatment systems requiring a high level of adsorption where powdered or granulated carbon cannot be used effectively.
If you want to reduce the exposure to dust and make cleanup simple, then a pelletized form of activated carbon is much easier to handle. You can transport it and store it more easily too. You can also measure out exact quantities to be used in your filtration system.
Pellets last for a longer period than smaller more processed forms of activated carbon as they retain their structure even after filtering thousands of liters of water or air. It also makes them easier to be regenerated and cleaned ready for reuse.
